Every Saturday morning, I open my front door to find the loveliest delivery waiting for me: a crusty sourdough loaf, delicate freshly baked pastries, the creamiest butter I’ve ever tasted, and fresh milk.
I pour my coffee into my favourite mug, the one that miraculously keeps my coffee hot (Ember – expensive but worth it – I think) and return to bed with my weekend treat.
It’s bliss.
A few weeks ago, I realised: this is my new ritual.
My little act of self-care before the chaos of the day unfolds. And it got me thinking about another ritual that’s crept into my weekends…
I’ve fallen madly in love with Substack.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Substack? Really, Heloise? Isn’t that just another newsletter platform?”
But hear me out. I already have too many distractions – Instagram, reels, facebook groups (I haven’t added TikTok into the mix because i know with my brain I’d never escape), the email inbox that never sleeps – and I was convinced I needed one fewer thing in my life. Yet here we are.
Every Saturday, I cosy up with my laptop, open my Substack inbox, and devour the beautifully curated newsletters I’ve carefully chosen.
It’s a haven of thoughtful writing, genuine insight, and human connection – everything social media often lacks.
No scrolling endless feeds, no algorithms vying for my eyeballs, just real writers sharing stories, tips, and experiences that feel… well, human.
This feels so pure. A chance to step off the treadmill of notifications and get lost in someone else’s carefully chosen words. A moment of calm in an otherwise noisy world .
You might be wondering, “That’s all very charming, Heloise, but what on earth has this got to do with course creation?” I’m glad you asked.
Because right now, there’s a lot of fear swirling around the creative world: AI is going to gobble up everything.
Yes, it’s a seismic shift – more profound, perhaps, than anything since the dawn of the internet.
I remember the days before Wi-Fi felt like magic, and yet we all survived (more than survived, really). Sure, the internet brought its own anxieties, but also a glut of opportunity.
Jobs, industries, connections we couldn’t have imagined.
AI, I believe, will be the same: part challenge, part breakthrough. As our screens become filled with AI-generated courses, voices, even video hosts, we are going to yearn for the human touch more than ever.
Here’s where you come in. Your lived experience, your hard-won lessons, the mistakes you made (and how you fixed them) – that’s what we will all crave.
That’s what people will pay for. No AI can replicate your unique story, your voice, your quirky sense of humour or the specific way you see the world.
So yes, there will be more noise. More “AI can do it better” courses.
But that noise will only highlight why your clarity, your expertise, and your personal touch are needed.
People will crave teachers who’ve been there, stumbled, gotten up again, and built something real.
If you’re ready to lean into what only you can teach – flaws, triumphs and all that goes with them, then let me help you.

And…are you on substack? Tell me your favourites? I’m always looking for recommendations.
