What I’m about to show you is such a simple thing…
But it’s the most important technique you can use to get someone to click on a link.
But so many of us don’t do it.
And I understand why…
Because at first it feels awkward or scary.
However, if you don’t do this, you’re going to miss out – big time – on sales.
So the gist of this is…
If you want someone to respond to your message, you MUST tell them exactly what to do in order to take action.
It’s a bit intimidating isn’t it, asking someone to do what YOU want?
But if you don’t – they won’t do it!
To give you an example…
Back in the old days of direct mail we used to spell out exactly what the reader needed to do in order to buy the product.
We’d say something like: “Please fill in the attached coupon, pop it in the prepaid envelope and post it to us at this address…’
It’s known as a ‘call to action’ (CTA).
This is just as important in the digital age, whether you are writing an eletter, hosting a Facebook Live, offering a free download, or posting on Instagram…
You need to decide what it is that you want your reader to do… when you want them to do it… and then ASK them to do it.
So how do you do that?
Well here are some ideas to get you started:
- Please click on the link in my bio to read my new post
- Click on the link below and submit your email address
- Click on this link now and let me know the best email to send it to
- Download your free report through this link: XXXX
- As soon as you have finished watching, please go to my webpage here XXXXX and select one of the limited places
- To find out more, click on this link and download the report
- Please ‘like’ this post and share it with your friends
- If you are interested, please leave a comment beneath this post 👇
- To join me, click here, enter your email address and select the best time slot for you
I hope you can see what I mean?
It’s such a simple thing, but it really does make a difference.
Far better to spell out the exact steps they need to take than leave a link there without any explanation, or rely on readers to act without prompting.
