I’m scribbling this down while waiting for our flight from the buzzing Big Apple back to lovely London (Let’s just say our original flight plans were… not quite as planned with cancelled flights and all that excitement!).

My three days at a Mastermind event have been crammed full of insights and learnings, which I can’t wait to unpack and share with you over the coming weeks.

But for now, let’s take a moment to talk about something seemingly simple, yet undeniably powerful – the power of ‘nice’.

On this whirlwind trip, we’ve stayed at three different hotels, each in a different city, all with similar price points.

Yet, the experiences were as different as chalk and cheese.

What made the difference?

One hotel stood head and shoulders above the rest, simply because their team treated every guest with genuine warmth, kindness and respect.

Doesn’t it make you think?

When it comes to our own courses or services, it’s easy to fall into the comparison trap, fretting over not having a glitzy website, a sophisticated app, or a bustling team.

Yet, as this hotel reminded me, there’s one thing you can offer that costs you nothing but means everything – Kindness.

Trust me, this simple act of humanity can lift you above the rest, even when everything else seems stacked against you.

You’d think it’s obvious, but oh how rare it is to find businesses with this at their core.

In my two decades of being an entrepreneur, I’ve seen competitors rise and fall.

More often than not, the secret sauce behind our longevity has been the trust and respect we’ve built with our customers, thanks to the kindness and fairness we practice.

Sure, you’ll come across a difficult customer, but remember, most of your customers are simply looking to be treated well – they’re seeking that human connection.

So my challenge to you is this: make kindness your north star.

Embed it into your business DNA and watch the magic happen.
