Introducing the ultimate course creation writing tool (and lots more!)

You’ve probably heard of AI.

It stands for ‘Artificial Intelligence’.

It refers to a machine or computer system that can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as learning, problem-solving, and decision-making.

AI systems are trained using large amounts of data and can improve their performance over time through a process called ‘machine learning’.

This allows AI systems to perform tasks more accurately and efficiently than humans in some cases.

It used to be that AI was something accessible by big companies with teams of tech boffins.

But in the past year, it has taken a huge leap forward.
It’s not only freely accessible to ordinary people – but its abilities have grown immensely.

AI used to produce very poor copy that sounded robotic and was full of repetition, bad grammar and mistakes.

Not anymore…

Now it can produce writing so convincing it’s almost impossible to tell that it was made by a machine.

And here’s how I found this out.

Toward the end of last year, I read an article about the potential of AI to create essays, articles, and online content.

It went into detail, looking not only at the benefits, but also the moral implications and potential downsides (for instance, students using it as a cheat to write essays, or AI putting journalists, editors and copywriters out of work).

“Interesting,” I thought, “But I imagine it’s still easy to tell if something is written by AI”.

But then…

At the end of the article, it was revealed that the article itself had been written by AI.

MIND = BLOWN.

That’s when I started looking into this properly because I realised how important this could be for you and me.

And I was totally amazed by what I discovered.

I signed up for an AI system called ChatGPT (which is currently free), launched by OpenAI at the end of 2022, and began to try a few simple commands.

For example…

“Write a request to my daughter’s school asking for a term time leave of absence to go on an overseas trip.”

Immediately the AI began typing out a perfect email, asking for the leave of absence, but also providing solid arguments and reasons for it.

I genuinely couldn’t have written it better myself.

So I tried something else.

I wrote: “Create a non-disclosure agreement for my company Canonbury Publishing”.

And out popped an almost perfect document.

Believe me, I’ve had a lot of these sort of documents in my time and this was bang-on!

Then I tried something that I might spend ages working on:

“Write me 5 Facebook ads encouraging female coaches, consultants and trainers to attend my free masterclass that will show them how to create their first successful online course. Use a chatty motivational style.”

Hey presto – the copy appeared!

Now, it wasn’t perfect, because it needed a bit more of my personality and voice in it.

And that’s important to remember.

You will need to use it more as a template that you can embellish and edit.

Sometimes you need to adjust the command to get the AI to truly understand what you want.

But WOW – for someone lacking in writing skills, experience and confidence, this would be so much better than anything they could come up with on their first attempt.

It’s like having your very own swipe file machine, producing templates for everything you could need in your course creation career.

When I showed this to my husband, he freaked out

My husband has been a copywriter and editor since the mid-90s.
So when he saw what I’d done with the AI, he went pale!

I can imagine a lot of freelance copywriters doing the same thing when they first see this.

After all, here’s a robot that can replicate a lot of their work, for free, in a matter of seconds.

But I don’t think that’s the issue AI won’t replace the good copywriters, because they can add the kind of magic a machine can’t master.

You still need to add the human touch.

But for many of us, this fantastic technology allows you to have your own staff writer on tap, whenever you need ideas and content to get you going.
